The Scholarship

The Scholarship is born out of Amelia Josefina Gray's sincere desire for attaining a higher education. It was Amelia's hope that after graduation from High School she would pursue a medical degree from the University.

 

Amelia maintained the faith that one day she would win the battle with cancer. Steadfastly and courageously, Amelia fought onward so that she would be able to give back to the community she loved as a Medical Doctor.  She wanted to work to heal others.

 

Amelia passed away in October of 2012. She bravely battled Stage Four Liver Cancer for six hundred and eighty-two days.  Established in December of 2012, the Scholarship focuses on the memory and honor of Amelia's courageous fight for life.  She always wore a smile and had good words for others.

It is the hope of the Scholarship team and Tender Grace Music to keep Amelia's Dream of Higher Education alive. We do this  by awarding one individual who shows outstanding academic grades and community service with the desire to enter the Medical Field.  Our ultimate goal is to give hope to anyone with Faith and Love of community to make the world better in which we live. After all, this is what Amelia would want.
